Professor Michelle Colgrave has won the 2020 ICM Agrifood Award from the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE) at their annual ATSE Innovation and Excellence Awards. This award recognises her contribution to the development of an ultra-low gluten barley, now known as Kebari® which is used in the production of gluten-free cereals, beers and food products with all the nutritional benefits of whole grains, and are also safe to be enjoyed by coeliac sufferers.

With joint appointments at Edith Cowan University and CSIRO, Michelle will have little time to celebrate. But don’t worry Michelle, we’ll toast your success with a gluten-free craft beer. Well done!
