Latest Capacity Building Grants announced

The CBG scheme is a competitive grant process open to PhD students and Postdoctoral Research Fellows to undertake cross-nodal travel to facilitate joint supervision/mentoring, internships with domestic and international industry partners; international lab visits to enable face-to-face engagement and research in international labs, learning new techniques and bringing that knowledge to Australia; and develop and deliver tailored training workshops for centre members and partner organisations. Congratulations to the recipients of our first two rounds of grants!

Below are the recipients of the second round of Capacity Building Grants awarded in 2023:

  • Chuan Huang (Monash) – International lab and industry visit to the University of Warwick, UK
  • Henry Lamb (QUT) – International Lab visit to Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes, Portugal
  • Jingyao You (USyd) – Domestic long-term travel to visit the Craik group at UQ
  • Maria Hountondji (USyd)- Domestic long-term travel to visit the Henriques lab at QUT
  • Deseh Goudarzi (UQ) – Domestic long-term travel to visit the Dunstone lab at Monash University
  • Xinyun Jian (Monash) – International industry visit to Syngenta and the University of Warwick, UK

  • Mahya Bahmani (ECU) – Cross-nodal travel to UQ
  • Joshua Hammond (ANU) – Industry internship at AstraZeneca
  • Dr Leila Hill (USyd) – Cross-nodal travel to ANU
  • Cebrina Nolan (UQ) – Cross-nodal travel to visit JCU, Smithfield
  • Izzy Palombi (ANU) – Cross-nodal travel to UQ and QUT
  • Kuok Yap (UQ) – Cross-nodal travel to visit Jackson and Otting labs at ANU
  • Yuhui Zhang (UQ) – Cross-nodal travel to ANU
