Alex is a synthetic organic chemist and has a diverse set of synthetic skills ranging from the synthesis of small molecule bioactive compounds to the chemical synthesis of large peptides and proteins. Most recently Alex has been focussed on the use of RaPID mRNA display technology to generate peptide libraries in the search for anti-viral compounds against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. When not in the lab, Alex enjoys playing and coaching AFL.
