Fayrouz's research focuses on the biosynthetic engineering of novel hybrid polyketide synthase-nonribosomal peptide synthetase biosynthetic pathways to metabolites with activity against multi-drug resistant opportunistic pathogens, with the aim of generating novel analogues with enhanced clinical potential. To unwind after a busy day in the lab she enjoys reading, listening to music or watching a movie.
