Over her academic career, Lauren has carried out interdisciplinary research in the fields of natural product total synthesis, biosynthetic pathway elucidation and biocatalysis. Her current research focuses on understanding the biosynthesis of both peptide and small molecule natural products, characterizing the enzymes by which they are synthesized for their broader potential as biocatalysts. Outside of the lab, Lauren enjoys cooking, gardening and exploring new coffee spots around Melbourne.
