Manujaya uses liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry to study milk proteomics. He is part of the CIPPS koala milk project, which aims to identify bioactive peptides and proteins in koala milk, including unique anti-microbial peptides and marsupial-specific growth factors. He characterises key bioactive peptides using in vitro testing to find those that would improve existing milk supplements, in support of the ultimate goal of aiding koala conservation efforts.
