Ms Qingdan Du
The University of Queensland
Qingdan’s research focuses on the discovery, biofunctional study and chemical synthesis of cyclotides, a group of fascinating disulfide-rich cyclic peptides that have numerous bioactivities and could be used as molecular scaffolds for drug-design. Qingdan has discovered a new suite of cyclotides from a traditional medicine Hybanthus enneaspermus and demonstrated in vivo aphrodisiac activity of the cyclotide in a rodent model. Outside of science, Qingdan enjoys playing ping pong, travelling, and handcrafting.
