Prof Ali Tavassoli
University of Southampton, UK
Professor Tavassoli heads an interdisciplinary team of scientists working at the interface of chemistry and biology. His lab has expertise in developing methods for large scale cyclic peptide synthesis, as well as extensive experience of developing biophysical and cell-based assays for a given protein target. A member of the chemistry department of the University of Southampton, Professor Tavassoli is known in his field for discovering first in class cyclic peptide inhibitors of the most challenging protein-protein interactions using SICLOPPS, a genetically encoded high-throughput screening platform which allows cyclic peptide libraries of up to a hundred million members to be generated.
