Science Festival outreach

As part of our broader communications and engagement strategy, CIPPS aims to have a presence at a major science-based event in each of our node states. Our outreach activities include making peptide models from pipe-cleaners and practicing intracellular targeting with a ‘giant inflatable cell’. Outreach events provide valuable opportunities for our Centre members to put their training in communication and engagement into practice, in addition to raising the profile of the Centre and educating the public about the vital and important work we do.
Our Queensland team had the opportunity across two days to inspire future scientists at the World Science Festival Brisbane.
Members of the Malins Lab in ACT spent three fantastic days representing CIPPS and sharing our science with the public at the Science Extravaganza as part of the Royal Canberra Show.
