Dr Junming He completed his PhD from The Australian National University, where he investigated ‘strategic development of small molecules and peptides as enzyme inhibitors’. He has a background in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry, with an interest in peptide-based applications.

Junming is currently the centre’s Communications and Outreach Officer, as well as a Research Officer in the Craik group at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, University of Queensland. During his PhD, Junming gained extensive experience in scientific communication and education through his voluntary and leadership roles. He was a mentor in Science Mentors ACT and was actively involved in the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) ACT branch committee. Junming also led the RACI Young Chemist Committee as co-chair.

Junming also has an artistic side and has had his original artworks used as the front cover art or frontispiece of journal articles.
