Dr Qingdan Du

Medical Communication Scientist

AstraZeneca, Shanghai, China

Qingdan is a PhD graduate working as a Medical Communication Scientist in AstraZeneca China R&D.  Qingdan completed her PhD under the supervision of Prof David Craik at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, The University of Queensland. Qingdan’s PhD research focused on the discovery, bioactivity study and chemical synthesis of cyclotides, a group of fascinating disulfide-rich cyclic peptides that have numerous bioactivities and could be used as molecular scaffolds for drug-design. During her PhD studies, Qingdan has published four scientific papers, and presented four posters and two short talks. Therefore, in addition to her lab skills, she has also developed her scientific writing and data presenting skills. Now she is taking advantage of these skills and contributing to New Drug Application by writing regulatory documents for clinical studies. Outside of work, Qingdan enjoys ping pong, travelling, and handcrafting.
