Prof Vicky Avery

Associate Investigator

Griffith University

Prof Avery heads Australia’s first HTS/HCS facility and as such, has a wealth of knowledge in assay design; development, automation, high content imaging and target identification. Her laboratory also plays an integral part in several large consortia for neglected diseases and a pivotal role within Cancer Therapeutics – working closely with leading Australian and international researchers to discover and develop small molecule discoveries into pre-clinical drug candidates. Her lab develops sophisticated assays for the identification of selectively active molecules and extensive biological characterisation associated with drug development and target identification. Her team plays a critical part role supporting projects through lead generation and optimisation. Prof Avery’s high throughput screening capability will aid CIPPS’ understanding of the function of new peptides and proteins.
