Tawfeek is interested in alkaloid biosynthesis in plants. A major focus of Tawfeek’s research is the development of analytical methods for alkaloid analysis in lupin and proteomic analysis of lupin to identify proteins and genes responsible for alkaloid synthesis and transportation.
