Dr Evelyne Deplazes

Associate Investigator

The University of Queensland

Dr Deplazes is a biophysical and computational chemist. Her research is motivated by the overarching goal to use her skills and knowledge to address real-world challenges in biomedical science, with a particular focus on developing pharmaceuticals and understanding fundamental processes such as membrane permeabilisation. Her research integrates biomolecular simulations and spectroscopy experiments to understand the interaction small molecules and peptides with biological membranes and how these interactions relates to their biological activities. Dr Deplazes collaboration within the Centre will focus on combining biomolecular simulations, experimental and structural biology data to establish structure-activity relationships to aid lead optimisation and expand knowledge about peptide-membrane and peptide-protein interactions.
