Dr Richard Kim

Richard is the Centre’s Chief Operating Officer, and Deputy Director (Operations and Strategy). He is responsible for high-level strategic, operational and performance planning to enable the Centre to achieve impact across its research goals, objectives and translation programs. Prior to joining CIPPS, Richard gained extensive experience in research strategy and administration as Senior Manager (Flagship and International Initiatives) in UQ’s Research Office. Over a seven-year period he managed a variety of portfolios with responsibility for institutional strategy and bid development in the Australian Research Council's Major Investment schemes, the Medical Research Future Fund, and most recently US Federal schemes. His background is in Information Systems and business intelligence with experience managing UQ’s Data Warehouse (Dec 2002-Jan 2014); Senior Product Manager for a Cambridge-based software company in St Johns’ tech incubator (Mar 1998-Dec 2002); and various roles at Griffith University (1993-1998).
