AIs Gambin and AI Sierecki have developed new approaches to accelerate screening of protein-protein interactions and protein aggregation using single-molecule methods. The Gambin-Sierecki lab focusses on mapping protein-protein interactions across multiple biological fields, from networks of transcription factors to interactomes of pathogens and bacterial effectors. They have assembled a platform for high-throughput examination of protein-protein interactions using the cell-free “protein-on-demand” system. The combination of single-molecule spectroscopy and ultrasensitive binding assays will give CIPPS a unique ability to examine protein-protein interactions.
