Prof Hidde Ploegh
Partner Investigator
Boston Children’s Hospital
Professor Ploegh is an expert in the filed of engineering enzymatic tools to decode the structure and function of peptides and proteins, with the ability to include bespoke labels following peptide and protein (bio)synthesis made possible through his pioneering work on the transacylase enzyme Sortase A – one of the most versatile enzyme-based peptide and protein ligation techniques known. Professor Ploegh will make major contributions to the ability to generate novel biomolecular conjugates through the combination of different peptides, proteins, antibodies and small molecules handles (dyes, tracers, metal ions, inhibitors etc.). He is currently Professor of Immunology at Harvard Medical School and the Boston Children's Hospital, Boston MA.
